Getting to Washington, DC

Washington, DC is home to two convenient international airports. The following is some information regarding travel to and from each one. DC is also easily accessible via Amtrak train into Union Station. 


To and From: 

Accessible by Metro - Ronald Reagan International Airport is conveniently located on the Metro - on the blue and yellow lines.

Average cost of a taxi-cab from DCA to Carnegie Institution of Science: $25-30
Average cost of a UberX or Lyft ride to Carnegie Institution of Science: $15-19


To and From: 

Accessible by Public Transportation — There is a Silver Line Express Bus that can take passengers from Dulles Airport to the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station (Silver Line). The bus trip takes about 15 minutes. Take the Silver Line from Wiehle-Reston stop into the city (length of trip depends on final destination in the city).
